A Word from Mr. Rivera

Happening Now

Roberto Rivera

Dear Gainesville Families and Students,

I am delighted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new principal of Gainesville High School.  I am thrilled to be leading such a dedicated staff and community that make GHS a great place for students to learn and grow.

On behalf of the entire staff, I extend a warm welcome back to all our returning families. To those who are joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you become a part of The Red Elephant Family. Under my leadership, the school community can expect a strong emphasis on relationships. Building partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community will be a priority to foster a sense of collaboration and support. There will also be a focus on continuous academic improvement and student success. My experiences have instilled in me a deep commitment to providing the best possible education and support for all students.

Building Positive Relationships:  At Gainesville High School, we firmly believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a thriving educational environment. We understand that learning flourishes when students feel supported, valued, and safe in their school community.  This year our staff will continue to use our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) model and expectations to ensure all students feel supported and a part of their school and classroom community.

Setting High Expectations: We believe that every student has the potential for greatness. We are committed to providing a challenging and rigorous academic program that encourages critical thinking, learning from mistakes, and fostering a growth mindset. By creating multiple learning opportunities for our students, we are supporting our students to unlock their full potential and prepare them for success in their future endeavors.

Working Together: As our school year gets underway, let’s work together in creating a positive, nurturing, and academically enriching environment for all our students. I encourage you to stay involved in your child’s education, attend our school events, and communicate with your child’s teachers regularly. Together, we can positively impact your child’s success here at Gainesville High School.

Please know that my door is always open, and I welcome your feedback, suggestions, and ideas.

GO BIG RED!

Mr. Roberto Rivera
